  1. THE CRISIS of THE UNITED NATION; ...World leaders converged on New York for all the politics and intrigue that the 67th United Nations General Assembly would bring. A platform for world leaders to meet, give speeches, and promote their interests, this year's General Assembly captured the attention of the world with several key events, including:

US President Barack Obama's speech eulogizing slaim US Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, while denouncing hate speech and the anti-Islam Innocence of Muslims film, although acknowledging the importance of free speech.

Further political brinkmanship from the leaders of Iran and Israel respectively, as Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad saw his presence in the United States spark protests in New York ahead of his General Assembly address.

Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu's speech saw a turn for the bizarre as he showcased a placard with a bomb graphic, illustrating Iran's alleged current progress of its nuclear program - which Israel claims is used for weaponization purposes, whereas Iran insists is peaceful - using a red marker to very literally draw 'a clear red line'.

Progress was made in highlighting the liberalisation of Burma with a General Assembly speech by President Thein Sein and meetings with the US State Department, announcing an end to many sanctions that had held the previously junta-held burgeoning Southeast Asian nation back for decades.
